- APPLEYARD - Canon R.T. (M.A.) Peacefully in London on October 17th 1988, after a short illness. Son of the late Canon Edward Appleyard, Reginald Thomas Peel Appleyard was born at Clarksburg in 1903. After serving parishes at Aughrin, Florence Ypsilanti, Michigan and as Dean of Huron College, Canon Appleyard became Rector of St. John's Church, Preston. 1943-1963 Canon Appleyard served the parish of New Hamburg and retired to London in 1968. Canon Appleyard was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Rolfe and by sisters Edith and Gertrude and brothers Charles and (BISHOP) Harold Appleyard. He is survived by his daughters Janet and Margaret, grandchildren Eric, Christopher, Julie and Sandra and brother (DR.) Ernest Appleyard. Visitation at the Memorial Funeral Home, 546 King St. (at William), London from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. Prayers in the chapel, Friday evening at 7: 30 funeral services at St. John's Church 567 Queenston Road, Cambridge (Preston), Saturday morning at 11 a.m. cremation and interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Huron College London, Ontario.
