    • Mr. R. A. Mainwaring Dies Suddenly of Hemorrhage of the Brain, -

      Mr. R. A. Mainwaring.

The death occurred very suddenly yesterday from. hemorrhage of the brain, Mainwaring morning, Mr. Mainwaring was living with his wife and a niece at his summer residence at Braconsfield, and the attack which caused his death was entirely unexpected. On Wednesday afternoon he was about as usual, and was in the city attending to his business. About a year ago he suffered from a mild seizure of a paralytic nature, but his friends had considered that his recovery, from it was almost complete.

Mr. Rienzi Athel Mainwaring was very prominent in business circles in Montreal and since 1890 had conducted a prosperous real estate business at 147 St. James street. He was born at St. George, Ont,, on November 30, 1849, and was the only son of the late Dr. N. E. Mainwaring, of that place. He received his education at the Galt Grammar School and at Upper Canada College. Removing from St. George to Toronto in 1886, he entered the real estate business, his partner being Mr. C. J. McCuaig, son of the late Hon. J. S. McCuaig, of Picton. The firm name was McCuaig Mainwarnig, and a branch was established Montreal, of which Mr. Mainwaring took charge. Besides conducting a large real estate business, Mr. Mainwaring was interested in numerous enterprises, and was the moving spirit in the electrification and extension of the Montreal Street Railway.

His wife, whom he married in 1878, and who was Miss Date, of Galt, Ont., survives him. Business circles in the city and a wide circle of friends sustain a heavy loss by his death.
