    • Barthel, Robert Davidson (Bob) - Of Golden Years Nursing Home, (Formerly of Fairview Mennonite Apartments), on Saturday, December 9, 2000, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Jean Werth (1986). Lovingly remembered by his son John, his daughter Jean Ann Utech and her daughter Jessa Ann Schneider, all of Kitchener, and his sister Dorothy Wilker of Waterloo. Predeceased by his parents John and Margaret Barthel, one brother Kenneth (1976), and one brother-in-law Gordon Wilker (1991). Mr. Barthel was born in Stratford. He was the former owner of Barthel Funeral Home, a member of St. Paul's United Church, Cambridge. He was also a Veteran of WWII serving overseas with the RCAF form 1942-1947, a member of the IOOF Cambridge Lodge #188, Preston Masonic lodge 297 AF & AM, the Concord Lodge, a founding member of the Otto Klotz Lodge, a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Preston Branch 126, an Honorary member of the Cambridge (Preston/Hespeler) Rotary, a Paul Harris Fellow, an emeritus member of the Ontario Funeral Director's for over 50 years, and a former commissioner of the Preston PUC. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, 450 King St. E., Cambridge on Thursday, December 14, 2000 at 1: 30 pm with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Interment in Hagey Cemetery, Cambridge. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation would be gratefully appreciated by the family. A Memorial Service under the auspices of the IOOF, Cambridge Lodge 188, will be recited on Tuesday at 6: 30 pm followed by a Legion Service under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion Preston Branch 126 will be recited at 7: 00 pm. A Memorial Service under the auspices of the Preston Masonic Lodge 297 AF & AM will be recited on Wednesday at 7: 00 pm.
