- BOWMAN, Rodney Earl "Gator" of Rothsay passed away suddenly as a result of a heart attack/motorcycle accident on Saturday, June 29, 2019 in his 56th year. Cherished husband of Judy (Melnychuk) for 35 years. Dear father of Nicky Melnychuk and Mike Head of Kitchener, Tonya Bowman and Patrick Dineen of Palmerson and Tyler Bowman and Ally Storkey of Kitchener. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas; Sophia, Owen, Jaedyn, Payton, and Brady; Emmett and Ellie. Son of Ross Bowman of Hamilton and the late Joanne Bowman (2018). Brother of Debbie Bowman of Waterloo and Tricia Horst of West Montrose. Brother-in-law of Perry Melnychuk and Michelle Davis. Fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rod was the president and founder of the Lazy J's Renegade Ryders, previous president of Abate Grey Bruce and past representative for Abate in the Ontario Federation of Clubs. Rod will be sadly missed by all of the associated riders that he met over the years. Predeceased by his son-in-law Rob Fillmore, mother-in-law and father-in-law Gladys and Nick Melnychuk. To honour Rod's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial ride will take place on Saturday July 20, 2019 starting at 12:00pm from the Lazy J's Renegade Ryders Clubhouse, 240 Elora Road, Rothsay, the ride will end at #5, Third Line, Belwood Lake, followed by a celebration of life from 1:00 to 5:00pm.
