Beloved wife of John for 64 years. Cherished mother of Richard (Mari) Gascho, Kathryn (Reg) Butt, Debra McDonald, and Douglas (Berit) Gascho. Proud Grandma to Robert, Michael, Tony, Jessica, Stephanie, Kerri-Lynn, Bryce, Matthew, John, and Lindsay. Great- grandma to Sabrina and Naomi. Ruby is predeceased by her parents, Moses and Katie Brenneman (née Roth), her brother, Ernie Brenneman and her brothers-in-law, Willis Swartzentruber and Gerald Bender. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who are richer for having known her. Ruby's strength was an inspiration to us all, and she will never be forgotten. Ruby was involved with the Independent Order of Foresters for over 40 years and was a longtime volunteer with the Youth Bowling Council in Burlington. A very special thank you to Teresa Gonzalez for her care and compassion. Ruby's family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses, volunteers, and staff at the Carpenter Hospice, where she received such exceptional care during the last three weeks of her life. Visitation will be held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Dr. (across from Bayview Cemetery, Crematory & Mausoleum), BURLINGTON (905.527.0405) on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Ruby's Life will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Knox Presbyterian Church (461 Elizabeth Street at James Street, Burlington), at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Carpenter Hospice or to the ALS Society of Canada would be appreciated by the Gascho family.
