  Death of War Veteran The death occurred in Westminster Hospital, London on Friday of Samuel Wellington Hughes, in his 77th year. The late Mr. Hughes, along with Mrs. Hughes, removed from Saskatoon last fall to reside with their daughter, Mrs. Wallace Dance, and Mr. Dance, 10th concession of Blenheim. He was taken suddenly ill on Wednesday and removed to Westminster Hospital. Mr. Hughes was a veteran of World War I, enlisting in the 63rd battalion, Edmonton, in 1915. He was born at Maberly, near Perth, and was a member of Knox United Church, Ayr. Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, Elborne, Edmonton, and a daughter, Mrs. Wallace Dance. The Funeral The funeral took place on Monday afternoon from the home of his son-in-law, Wallace Dance, to the Ayr Cemetery. Rev. W. D. Goodger, pastor of Knox United Church, was in charge of the services, and the pallbearers were: Walter Barrie, James Baxter, Richard Mitchell, James Dance, John Dance and Norman Dance.
