    • Stuart Honderich, 73, of Baden, passed away peacefully, in the presence of his loving family on February 9, 2005, after a short stay at K-W Health Centre of the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. He was born on October 19, 1931, in Wilmot Township. Beloved husband of Shirley (Wettlaufer) Honderich. Loving father of Cathy and her husband John Young of Camlachie and Susan and her husband Gord Mills of New Hamburg. Dear brother of Ronald (Melba) Honderich, Calvin (Madeline) Honderich, Marlene (Allan) Parker and brother-in-law of Jean (Ernie) Faulhafer. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Delford and Alice (Hiller) Honderich; a brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Babes Honderich; and a cherished granddaughter, Hannah Young (February 3, 2005). Stuart was employed at J.M. Schneider Limited for 33 years and a member of the 25 year club. He was active in his church, Zion Lutheran Church in Philipsburg, where he served previously on church council. He was a charter member and past president of the Baden Optimist Club, active in the Wilmot Seniors Woodcarving Club, a member of the Wilmot Heritage Fire Brigade, enjoyed coaching minor softball and hockey and was a loyal Detroit Red Wings fan. He will always be remembered for his kind and gentle manner and his love of the outdoors, sports, music and gardening. There will be no funeral home visitation. A private family service will be held with interment in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Philipsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ChildCan or the Optimist Childhood Cancer Campaign through the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg. (519-662-1661)
