  S. J. McLeod PRESTON, Nov. 25, S. J. "Bob" McLeod, 59, for 22 y ears employed by the board of works, 18 of which he acted as foreman, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, yesterday. Mr. McLeod resigned as foreman last January but continued to work as a driver. He has been in failing health for some time and his death followed a heart attack last Monday morning. He was born in Lion's Head district and lived in Wiarton, Tara and Guelph. He came here 23 years ago and started working for the board of works the following year when the first King street pavement was being laid. He was employed by the board during the years of heavy development of the town, such as laying of new pavements and sewers, etc. He was a member of the Tara lodge IOOF. Mr. McLeod is servived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Effie Hessen, three sons, Roy of California, Gordon and Jack, Preston, four daughters, Mrs. Wm. T. Habermehl, Washington, Ont. Mrs. Frank Hartley, Preston, Verna and Beulah at home. One sister Mrs. E. B. Stewart, Galt and one brother Bert, in British Columbia, also survive. Kitchener Daily Record 26 Nov 1937 pg 21
