Notes |
- Mrs Bowman Widow of Early GHS Principal.
Cremation followed the funeral service of Mrs. Bowman, recently in San Diego, California. Mrs. Bowman who had since remarried was the widow of the former Georgetown High School principal, R. D. Coutts.
Mr. and Mrs. Coutts and their children, Malcolm and Isabel lived in Georgetown from 1897 til 1904 when Mr Coutts resigned from the principalship and went to Western Canada. Prior to her death Mrs. Coutts suffered from arthritis for many years.
Malcolm is now a doctor, specializing in orthopaedics, in San Diego and Isabel is now Mrs. Van der Linden of Saskatchewan. Ashes will be interred in Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown, at a later date, in the family plot where Mr. Coutts is buried.
