Notes |
- An Oxford County native, Stock formed a partnership in 1927 with Louis Junker, who had come came from the Peterborough area. They took over a creamery that had been launched at Peel and Seyler in 1921. Before that, the building served as a stable for the old Queen's Hotel in the village.
Stock took a course in cow testing at the Ontario Agricultural College in Guelph. While there, he met his future wife, Ruby, who came from the Streetsville, Ont., area. He was New Hamburg's reeve (mayor) for six years in the 1950s and also warden of Waterloo County. He died in 1975.
