  • Notes 
    • BALLANTYNE, THOMAS WHITSON, was a brother of Dr. Charles Ballantyne of Galt. He was born in Stratford in 1893. His preliminary education was obtained there, and in 1916 he graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine. During the war he served with the 43rd. Field Ambulance.

      After the war he practised in Kitchener for a year, then moved to Woodstock. He maintained an interest in military affairs, being Medical Officer for the Oxford Rifles. He belonged to the St. John's Ambulance Association, becoming Divisional Surgeon for Division No. 91. He was a member and president for one term of the Woodstock horticulturist Society. He was a former member of the Y-Beaver Minstrels of Woodstock, was active in local and county medical affairs, was a member of the Canadian Legion, the Woodstock Rotary Club, and the Masons.

      He died on January 19, 1948, being survived by his wife one daughter and one son.
