  WEGFORD, Verna Emma (Hoerle) Passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at her residence Nithview Community, New Hamburg. She was formerly of Baden. Verna was born 95 years ago in Wilmot Township a daughter of the late Henry Hoerle Jr. and the former Barbara (Lizzie) Schmidt. Verna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg where she enjoyed quilting with the ELW and had been the church caretaker. Verna loved a good visit, entertaining guests, cooking for company, and being in the presence of children. She enjoyed a good sense of humour and took great care of her family. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Charles Wegford who predeceased her September 8, 1983. Loving mother of Helen and her husband Ron Ehrat of Baden. Sadly missed by granddaughters Christine Ehrat of Baden, and Kathy and her husband Reynold Skowron of New Hamburg. Lovingly remembered by her great-grand- children Chloe and Ronnie. Verna is also remembered by her sister and roommate Minnie Hoffman, and a number of nieces and nephews. Verna was predeceased by her brothers Elmore Hoerle, Reinhardt and his wife Edna Hoerle, and Roy and his wife Muriel Hoerle, and by brothers-in-law Clarence Hoffman, and Clarence and his wife Martha Wegford. Friends and relatives may call at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Monday, May 24, 2010, transfer will be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg for the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Brown officiating. Burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the charity of one's choice.
