Notes - BRUBACHER, Vivyan (Hockridge) With great regret we announce the passing of Vivyan, beloved wife of Lorne Brubacher, on March 19, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener. Dear mother of Gale Cameron, Doug (Sue) Brubacher, Gary (Evelyn) Brubacher, Carol (Al) Stephenson and Tim (Heidi) Brubacher. Cherished Grandma of Beth, Jackie, Ewan, James, Tara, Ryan, Nathan, Ali, Phoebe and Max. Adored Grandma B to great-grandchildren Nick, Ella, Ian, Vivienne, Kyra, Scarlett, Georgia and step-great- grandma to Cameron, Duncan and Jenna. Dear friend of Cindy Mounteer, Shirley Halme and Dorothy Eglin. Predeceased by her parents, Jack and Blanche Hockridge, sister Verlet Miehm and brothers Clarence and Carman. Vivyan was born in Proton Township on February 23, 1926. She married Lorne in 1945, and would have celebrated their 70th anniversary in June of this year. After raising her family, Vivyan enjoyed working outside the home at the Dairy Queen in Eastwood Plaza for over 25 years. She was a charter member of Christ the King United Church, holding many positions through the years. A "Mom" and "Grandma" to many, Vivyan opened her home to everyone, and made them feel a part of the family. Vivyan's family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00p.m.-4:00 p.m. rand 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A memorial service will be held at Christ the King United Church, 167 Thaler Ave., Kitchener, on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with pre-service visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, followed by a reception in the church hall.
