  • Notes
    • An unusually sad accident occurred in the village last Saturday morning about seven o'clock, when Arthur the eleven-year-old son of Geo. Kelterborn was drowned near the skating rink. He and his brother Walter had gone down to the river to see the ice floating down, and Arthur, who was subject to spells of fainting slipped into about two feet of water where the river had overflowed its banks. Walter made a brave attempt to pull him out, but, unable to do so, he immediately gave the alarm, and assistance came at once, but too late to resuscitate the unfortunate boy. Arthur was a likeable boy and was quite bright at school, and will be missed by his companions and friends. The funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon, and was largely attended by the villagers and sorrowing friends. The parents and family have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends in this their sad hour of bereavement.
