- FUNERAL OF WALTON DISNEY, VICTIM OF SHOOTING TRAGEDY VERY LARGELY ATTENDED
Many friends and relatives on Sunday afternoon attended the funeral of the late Walton Disney who was the victim of the tragic shooting accident last Thursday evening. The home of the parents, Mr and Mrs Norman Disney, 68 John St., Waterloo, was crowded and scores were unable to gain admittance.
A short but most impressive service was conducted by Rev. W. H. Harvey, pastor of the Methodist church who paid tribute to the departed lad and spoke words of comfort to the grief stricken parents. He referred to the kindly disposition of the boy which endeared him to his parents and his school mates many of whom were present.
Numerous floral tributes were received including wreaths and sprays from the lad's Sunday school class and Alexandra school class, the casket and parlor being banked with beautiful flowers.
Following the service the remains were laid at rest alongside those of his infant brother who passed away two months ago. The pall bearers were six of his boyhood friends, five of whom were members of his Sunday school class of which Walton was faithful attendant. The bearers were William Bean, Miller Fischer, Wilfrid Honsberger, Carl Hemmerly, Woodrow Wilson and Robert Cunningham.
