      HESPELER, June 23. - Mrs. John R. Goebel, who had been a resident of Hespeler for greater part her life, died at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, Kitchener, at about 4:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon after an illness three weeks. The late Mrs. Goebel was in her 68th year.

      The deceased was born in Germany and came to Canada as a child of nine years of age. Her maiden name was Wilhelmina Knack, and she was the daughter of the late Mr.and Mrs. Frederick Knack. On January 29, 1896, she married John R. Goebel and had resided in Hespeler since that time. The late Mrs. Goebel was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Preston, and was active in the work of the Hespeler branch of Women's Institute and the Ladies' Auxiliary to the Preston church.

      She is survived by her husband. John R. Goebel of Hespeler: three sons. Victor J. Edward C. and Elmer W. Goebel, all of Hespeler, and one daughter, Mrs. C. C. Ostrom (Helen) of London. A brother, Herman Knack. Beaverdale, and four sisters, Mrs. H. Cornell (Henrietta), Mrs. Oberacker (Anne) and Mrs. E. Doeherel (Edith), all of Erie, Pa. and Mrs. J. Brown (Bertha) of Detroit, also survive.

      The funeral is to take place on Thursday afternoon. A service is to be conducted at her late residence, Guelph. Avenue, Hespeler, at two o'clock, and interment will be in the Hespeler Cemetery. Rev. W. H.
      Knauff of Preston will conduct the services.
