  • Notes
    • CHOATE & ROSE, DAGUERREOTYPERS- This enterprising firm of young men have nearly completed a splendid new moveable establishment, expressly for taking first rate daguerreotype pictures. The building is light and graceful in appearance, being some 30 by 12 feet and some 9 in height, waterproof and perforated with sky and other lights suitable for the above purpose. The painting will be done shortly, and then this novel Daguerreotypery will be set up in Queen's Square or some other public place to accommodate all those who desire good and reliable likenesses - not the uncertain, glimmering things we've been accustomed to, but clear bold and distinct resemblances. Messrs. Scott & Murray erected this exhibition, and that in regard to style is considered to be saying enough. "The Mammoth Daguerrean Saloon," as it is generally called, will doubtless be visited by crowds.
