    • FORREST, WILLIAM COWAN

      A well-known Hespeler man, at the General Hospital in Toronto, on Saturday morning, April 25, 1936, in his 62nd year. Mr. Forrest had been receiving treatment at the Toronto hospital, when erysipelas developed. A native of Puslinch, near Guelph, Mr. Forrest farmed near the Ontario Agricultural College for a considerable period. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was a resident of Hespeler for the past three years. Surviving are his wife, Kate Panabaker; two brothers, Robert of Winterbourne; Thomas on the homestead in Paisley Block; and one sister, Margaret, also on the homestead. The funeral took place from his residence, Rife Ave., Hespeler, on Mon. April 27th at 2: 30, conducted by Rev. Dr. MacGillivary of Knox Presbyterian Church in Guelph, of which Mr. Forrest was a member and elder, assisted by Rev. T. G. Marshall of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Hespeler, Rev. J. J. Lowe of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Galt and Rev. J. W. Hunt of the United Church. Pallbearers: Charles Fisk, Archie Cleghorn, Archie Moody, Ernest and Russell Forrest of Guelph and Gordon Behling of Kitchener. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

      -Information from the birth certificate: Born on Apr. 8, 1874, son of James Jackson Forrest and Agnes Hamilton of Guelph Twp.

      -His second wife, Kate Panabaker died in 1952. His sister, Margaret H. Forrest died in 1949 and his brother, Thomas Forrest in 1945.
