"Died of Wounds"
While in the "jumping off" trench preparing to take part in a raid on enemy positions near Arras, on the morning of July 23th 1918, an enemy shell landed in the trench severely wounding him in the neck and left arm. His wounds were dressed and he was taken to a dressing station and later evacuated to No.3 Canadian Field Ambulance where he died.
