  • Notes
    • William H. "Bill" Heise was the son of Preston furniture maker Henry Heise and Dorothea Stuempfle. After formal schooling in Preston he learned the trade of watch making and operated a watch repair shop in the Barnhardt Block on King St. In 1915 he enlisted for military service as a stretcher bearer and was wounded in action in 1916 sustaining an injury that made it impossible to bend his arm. Despite this in 1919 he was one of Preston representatives at the formation of the Inter-County Baseball Association, he served as president in 1926 and 1927. In 1918 he was appointed Division County Clerk until 1929 when he took over the operation of a confectionery store from his sister and her husband.
