    • Zachariah A. Hall, a noted industrialist enjoyed a varied career acting as a school principal in Preston then operating a Preston furniture business. In 1907 with Oscar Jacob Zyrd he purchased Parker Steele Range Company of Windsor and moved to Grimsby then relocating the business to Hespeler in 1909. He foundry company was the Hall Zyrd Foundry Company until 1928 Mr. Zyrd sold his interests. The business was renamed to Hall Foundry Company Limited until 1952 when he died. He noted for many of the invention of special features on ranges. He was elected as a MPP in 1914, serving until 1919. He also served on Preston town council and a reeve. He also served on Waterloo County council. He moved to Guelph abt 1922.
