Notes |
- Charles Achterberg has resided in Wellesley since '55, coming that same year from Friedricksdorf by Falkenburg Hinter Pommern Germany. He built the building now owned by Mr. Gustav Woiwade and conducted a tailoring business there for many years, retiring with a competency in 1887, when be sold out to his nephew, Mr. Woiwade. Deceased assisted in the organization of the Miss. Lutheran church and has held a high official position ever since. Deceased has not been in robust health for the last year and a light stroke of paralysis last Thursday was sufficient to sap his remaining strength so that he passed away about four o'clock on Sunday afternoon in his 78th year, survived by his aged widow. The largely attended funeral occurred yesterday afternoon.
