- AICHELE, Rev. Jakob - Peacefully, at St. Mary's Hospital, in the morning of Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Edith Aichele (2002). Cherished father of Ingrid (John) Petronic. Loving grandfather of Nancy (Paul) Friess, John Jr. and great-grandfather of Emmalee and Julia Friess. Predeceased by his parents, Jakob and Christine Aichele, two brothers and four sisters. Jakob and his wife Edith were residents of the Bridgeport Community for 42 years, where they ran The Log Cabin Restaurant for 4 years. After the sale of the restaurant, he spent 30 years working for Dare Foods and he became an avid woodworker in his spare time. He was also a member of the Einigkeit Klub of Kitchener. Relatives and friends will be received at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, (519-742-4481) 51 Benton St., Kitchener today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Jakob's funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 1 p.m. Rev. Harold Staubi officiating. Interment Bridgeport Memorial Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
