    • Passing of Mrs. Wm. Tunney at a Ripe Age

      In Ayr, on Sunday, Nov. 28th, at 9.1.5 a. m., Ezina Basted, relict of the late Tunney, in her 83rd year. The deceased had been in feeble health for some years. She was born in Lincolnshire, Norfolk Co., England, her maiden name being Ezina Basted. She came to Canada with her parents at the age of 12 years, settling at Washington, and had lived in this vicinity all the rest of her life, including some years in Ayr. At the age of 18 years she married William Sinclair, who predeceased her 18 years. The children who survive are: Mrs. Wm. Bucknell, Manitoulin Island; Mrs. Imlach, Brandon, Man., Mrs. Kyle, Ayr; Mrs. Geo. Cripps, Detroit; Mrs. Arthur Smith, North Dakota. Grandson, Mr. James Sinclair, Detroit. Deceased was twice married, her second husband being the late William Tunney, who died 11 years ago. Mrs. Tunney was a member of Stanley Street Church in the days when she attended religious service. The immediate cause of her death was due to the result of a stroke. The funeral took place from her late residence, Swan Street, yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, when interment was made in the Ayr cemetery, Rev. J. J. Brown, Pastor of Knox United Church, conducting the service.
