- A-1-54 Gottlieb Blaurock: Administration of the Estate of Gottlieb Blaurock, formerly of the Township of Wilmot, granted to Samuel Cressman, a Creditor.
In the Surrogate Court of the County of Waterloo
The Petition of Samuel Cressman, Jacob Cressman, Moses Bean, George Becker and Ritian[?] Kintzsie, all of the Township of Wilmot and Jacob Donnanwirth and Benedict Glausser of the Township of Waterloo….respectfully sheweth that Gottlieb Blaurock, of the Township of Wilmot, aforesaid departed this life on or about the twenty eighth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and fifty four, leaving divers goods, chattels and credits within this County. That diligent search has been made for a Will of the said deceased, but none found, and your petitioners verily believe that the said deceased died intestate. This it is necessary in order to arrange and settle the affairs of the said deceased, and the goods, chattels and credits left by him being liable to suffer waste there being none to take charge of the same, that Letters of Administration do issue to the Estate of the said deceased, that, as far as your Petitions know, the said deceased (Intestate) was at the time of his death not possessed of goods, chattels and credits to the amount of Five pounds in two or more Counties of the Province or in any other County than the County of Waterloo. That the children of the said deceased have all died before himself, and his wife two days after him, and no next of kin of the deceased or of his deceased wife being known resident within this County nor Province. they having been natives of Bamberg in Prussia, Poland. The prayer of your petitioners - all of them being Creditors of the said Deceased and residing within this Province, therefore is that Letters of Administration be granted to the aforesaid Samuel Cressman, one of their number and by them elected for this purpose, as the one most deeply interested in the administration of the said Estate, in order that the said goods chattels and credits may be justly and truly administered as the Law requires; and also that the next of kin of said deceased or of his deceased wife in their native country be cited or otherwise be searched after in order to pay over to them the residue-if any there be-of the said Estate.
Dated Berlin, 9th September 1854
Signed by Samuel Cressman, Jacob Cressman, Moses Bean, George Becker, George Kintzie, Jacob Donnenwirth and Benedict Glasser
Order of Judge to cite next of Kin - Dated 9th September 1854:
On reading the above Petition and the Affidavits verifying the same, and appearing to me satisfaction that the said Gottlieb Blaurock is dead and died intestate and leaving no next of kin within this Province. As far as it is known, I do hereby order that the next of kin of said Deceased be publicly cited to appear before me on the 18th day of November next, in the Courthouse at Berlin, and failing such, that Letters of Administration be granted to the said Samuel Cressman, as prayed for, to administer as the Law provides in such case.
