  BOWLEN, BENJAMIN About the year 1842, the farm of the late M. P. Lynch was purchased by a black man, Ben Bowlen. This man was found frozen to death beside his oxen and sleigh while teaming his wheat to Preston. In 1845 this land was purchased by Michael Lynch. - Annals of Puslinch, 1850-1950.
