  Died-One of the oldest residents of New Hamburg passed away on Tuesday morning last in the person of Mrs. Catherine Hopf, at the advanced age of 88 years, 7 months and 3 days. Deceased was born in Bavaria, Germany, coming to this Country when a young girl, and had been a resident of New Hamburg for the past fortyfive years. She is survived by two Sons and Two Daughters. Mr. John Hopf, Brantford; Mr. Frank Hopf, Detroit;Mrs. Albert Cromwell, Keewatin, Ont., and Mrs. Wm. Cromwell, Akron, Ohio. The funeral took place from the residence of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jos.Hopf, on Thursday forenoon at 10 o'clock to the R.C. Church of which denomination she had been a faithful member, and thence to the R.C. Cemetery. New Hamburg Independent 31 Aug 1906
