  LORENTZ, Violet - At St. Mary's Hospital, on Monday, June 27, 1994, following a brief illness, Mrs. Violet Lorentz (nee Cathrea), of Kitchener, age 78 years. Mrs. Lorentz was a member of St. Anne's RC Church. Loving mother Carl Scherer and his wife Doreen of Markham, Rose and her husband Hubert Dietrich of Waterloo, Millie and her husband Bob Eckert of Kitchener, Marilyn and her husband Al Schleimer of Mannheim, Patricia and her husband Leonard Gohl of Linwood, Judy and her husband Peter Nickl of St. Sister Joyce, SSND, of Toronto, Bonita (Bonnie) and her husband Larry Lidstone Kitchener, Albert and his wife Linda Lorentz of Linwood. Dear sister of Pearl and her husband Robert Jasper of Guelph, Lillian Wagner of Kitchener, Ada and her husband Mervin Barber Rose City, Mich., Edward Cathrea of Elmira; sister-in-law of Elsie Cathrea of Elmira. Sadly missed by 28 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Lena Cathrea; her first husband, Carl Scherer in 1971; her husband, Albert (Bert) Lorentz in 1993 and one brother, James Cathrea. Friends and relatives may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where parish prayers will be held at 8:30 p.m. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral mass at St. Anne's RC Church at 10 a.m., with Father Robert Stainsby officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Reception to follow in the parish hall of St. Anne's Church. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, would be gratefully acknowledged.
