Of Cambridge, on Friday, December 12, 2008, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Lillian Dinn (2001). Dear father of Michael (Fran) Dinn of Elmira, Pat (Keith) Taylor of Kitchener, Mary (David) DeBrusk of Palmerston, and Betty (John) Wood of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Sarah and William Dinn; two brothers, Jim and Joe and three sisters, Gertie Mahoney, Frances Maloney and Mary Quigley. Mr. Dinn was born in Carbonear, Newfoundland and came to Preston, in 1946. He was a member of St. Clement's RC Church, was employed for many years as an upholsterer at Canadian Office and School Furniture and Croydon Industry, until he retired 20 years ago. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Preston Branch 126, a Veteran of the Royal Canadian Army, Newfoundland Regiment and a member of the United Steel Workers Union and a past volunteer of the Preston Volunteer Firefighters, 1960-1970. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, on Sunday, December 14, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clement's RC Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge, on Monday, December 15, 2008, at 10 a.m. Interment in Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
