  Elsley, Mabel On a day filled with sweet sadness and loving memories we say so long for now to our mother, aunt, grandma, sister and best friend who passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Sunnyside Home. Mabel Edith (nee Haufschild) Elsley, just a few short months before her 104th birthday. Mabel will forever hold a special place in the heart of those she has touch including daughters, Gerry (the late Paul), Joan, Jean (the late Ray) and Judith (Bryan), 11 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. Mother Mabel will be reunited with the love of her life Charles Henry (Harry) (1993) after 64 years of marriage and son-in-laws Ray, Paul and her 3 sisters Irene, Emma and Edna and step-grandchild Joshua Robert. Mabel's life centred around family, church and music as long as she lived in her home. Her home was always full of family and friends. Even though the family scattered to different areas of the province most found time to get "home" to see grandma. When not busy with family Mabel was busy with her church; forming and leading ladies groups, bible study, United Church Women, Sunday School Teacher and had been a member of a choir since she was 14 years old. Mabel and Harry were a well known vocal duo in K-W as well as their 3 older girls, known in the area as the Elsley trio. They gained a lot of notoriety until the girls married and moved to the Toronto area. We are sure that Mabel has already been to the first practice in that heavenly choir. So for now mother we say so long, we love you and will miss you and will someday see you at the "house". May God bless her and welcome her home. Mabel's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 7-9 pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467 and on Tuesday from 12-12:45 pm at the church. The Funeral Service will take place at 1 pm, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Christ The King United Church, 167 Thaler Avenue, Kitchener. Rev. Marilyn Burnard officiating. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener. As expressions of sympathy donations to Christ The King United Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
