  Died In Ayr, on Friday, September 4, at 2.40 o'clock a.m. Mary Hogarth Relict of the late David Melvin In her 75th year. The Funeral Will take place from her late residence, Bruce street, on Sunday, September 6, at 3 o'clock p.m., to Ayr cemetery. Friends and acquaintances will please accept this intimation. Funeral Card ____________________________ Mrs. David Melvin - Another old and highly respected resident of Ayr passed away Friday in the person of Mary Hogarth, relict of the late Hugh Melvin. Mrs. Melvin was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, on November 5th, 1839, and after her arrival in this country, was married to Mr. David Melvin, in Ayr, in 1860, by the late Rev. Mr. Ritchie. Mrs. Melvin leaves behind her a family of eight, consisting of four sons: James of North Battleford; John and David of Galt; Albert of Ayr also four daughters: Mrs. James Hoggarth, Wolverton; Mrs. Wm. Anderson, Beachville; Miss Lottie, Toronto; Mrs. D. MacDonald, Ayr, to all of whom the sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon to Ayr cemetery and was largely attended by her friends and acquaintances, who deeply mourn her loss. The Ayr News Sep 10 1914 pg 8
