- KONINGS, Petrus (Peter) Aloysuis
Born 1922 in Tilburg, Netherlands. Passed away May 14, 2018 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Predeceased by his wife Emma (2011), his parents, Harry and Anna and his siblings Jan, Frank and Dini. Survived by his children, Lillian (Dan), Jack (Jo-Anne), and Marion, his grandchildren Michelle (Bryan) and Ben (Sacha), his great-grandchildren Nathan, Cameron, Grayson and Elyse and one brother-in-law, Frans. Peter fought in the Second World War with a British regiment of Dutch soldiers. He then went with the Dutch Army to the Dutch East Indies. Upon his return, he married Emma in 1949, with whom he raised a family. Peter emigrated to Canada with his wife and family in 1959 and settled in Galt. Peter held various positions in the Cambridge area, but spent the majority of his working life in Quality Control at Dominion Rubber (Uniroyal). Peter was a faithful long time parishioner and usher of Saint Ambrose Parish. Peter was also a member of Galt Council 2184 of the Knights of Columbus and of Branch 126 of the Royal Canadian Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed swimming, golf, woodworking, travelling and his accordion. Visitation will be at the T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main St., on Thursday, May 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers at 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Saint Ambrose Parish 210 South St., Cambridge on Friday, May 18 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to Saint Ambrose Parish Cambridge, The Sisters Of Our Lady Immaculate or the Marian Residence Cambridge. The family would like to thank the Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate, staff and residents of The Marian Residence for all they have done for our father. Thank you for all your prayers. He is now at peace and has gone to join our Mom Emma, in the arms of Our Father. Interment will be in the Catholic section of Mount View Cemetery.
