  SHOOTS SELF AFTER HIS SON-IN-LAW Respected Galt Citizen Slightly Wounds Ernie Lamarble GALT, Oct 2.-An attempted murder and suicide occurred here Saturday afternoon at 21 Queen St. east, when John Martz, aged about 63, a well-known and respected resident, shot his son-in-law, Ernie Lamarble, in the head and then put a bullet in his own forehead. Martz is in the hospital in a semi-conscious condition, with a slight chance for his recovery, while Lamarble, by a miracle, is out and around. The bullet, which flattened itself on the inner plate of the skull, has been removed. Martz, a resident of Galt for many years, has been in poor health for the past year, and it is believed. that brooding over his sickness deranged his mind and caused him to commit the rash act.
