  Passed away peacefully at his residence, Trinity Village Care Centre, Kitchener on Tuesday March 2, 2010 in his 90th year. Walter was a member of St. Sophia's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Waterloo. Walter was predeceased by his wife, Helen in 2003 after 55 years of marriage. Loving father of Boris Sawicky and his wife Linda of Maple Grove, B.C. and Donna Slaight and her husband Gary of Toronto. He will always be remembered by his grandchildren, Craig Sawicky, Jennifer Sawicky, Ali Slaight and Chrissy Slaight. The family invites relatives and friends to the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener on Wednesday and Thursday from 7-9 pm. (Panachyda 7 pm.) Morning prayers will begin at the funeral home on Friday March 5th, 2010 at 9: 15 am. followed by procession to St. Sophia's Ukrainian Orthodox Church for funeral Mass at 10: 00 am. Reception to follow in the church hall, then interment to take place at St. Volodymyr's Ukrainian Cemetery, Oakville.
