- SEREDYNSKY, Dmytro "Dan"
Passed away, at Hamilton General Hospital, on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, in his 77th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Oksana (nee Kira); treasured father of Susan of Waterloo and Katherine of Kitchener; special step-father of Mykola. Lovingly remembered by his grandsons, Brent and Gregory Eady. Sadly missed by his brother, Ivan and family in the Ukraine. Dan served in the British Army, in the Second World War and was a proud veteran. He immigrated to Canada in 1951 and worked at Joy Manufacturing and Dresser Industries, in Cambridge, he also owned "Marion's Market" (later Centre Variety), a corner store in Galt, for several years. He was a longtime member of St. Mary's Ukrainian RC Church and an active member of the Chaplin Family YMCA. Dan had a wonderful sense of humour, loved meeting people and had an independent spirit. He will be missed beyond measure. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, on Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Ukrainian RC Church, 582 Eagle St. N., Cambridge, on Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at 10 a.m. A reception will follow. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery, Cambridge. Panachyda (prayers) will be recited at the funeral home on Sunday, at 7 p.m.
