- WAIGH, Roy Alfred Louis - May 2, 1913 - July 20, 2004. It is with great sadness, that the family announces his peaceful death, in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his wife, Ida in 1992 and daughter, Rosalind in 1987. Greatly missed by his son, Ashley and wife Ora of Napean, Ont., Martin and his wife Barb, currently residing in France, and Michael and wife Jacqui of Waterloo, Ont. Loved grandfather of Christine, Bruce, Geoffrey, David, Elizabeth and Derek. Great-grandfather of Kaitlin and Pierce. Roy was born in London, England and moved to Canada in 1948, after coming here as a member of the RAF during the Second World War, as a Flight Commander F/Lt., he loved the country and immigrated here after the War. Roy had a long and rewarding career as a "Certified Administrative Manager", and held positions as Chief Administrator for several corporations, including Bermuda Aviation Services. He was a member of the "Chartered Institute of Secretaries", and was also a "Certified Office Administrator". He came to Waterloo in 1992 from British Columbia to be closer to family. The family would like to thank the staff at Bankside Terrace in Kitchener for making the last year of his life comfortable. Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 2 p.m., at David McLeod Funeral Home, 617 King St. N., Waterloo, Ont. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
