  • Notes
    • WRAITH, JOHN HOPE. Mention is made in James Young's book of a card in the Dumfries Courier on October 4, 1845, referring to Dr. John H. Wraith, of the Royal College of Surgeons, London.

The Public Archives of Canada has an affidavit of his licence to practice Physic, etc. dated 5 June 1844. The document says he is of the Village of Oakville, and has exhibited a diploma from the Society of the Arts and Mystery of Apothecaries of the City of London, dated November 8, l837, and another from the Royal College of Surgeons dated February 16, 1838. Apart from James Young's mention, there is no other indication that he practised in this area.
