      Life-long Ayr resident Ben Gordon Ibele passed away, following a courageous battle with cancer, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Monday, January 5th, 1998. He was in his 59th year. Born in Ayr, he was a son of the late Ben Ibele Sr. and Lily May Eichler. Ben was an employee of Ayr News for 40 years and a member of Ayr Fire Department for 30 years. Dear husband of Pat Burton; loved brother of Nancy and her husband Lou Joron of Parksville, B.C. and Stewart and his wife Joan of Forester Falls; beloved son-in-law of Fred and Doreen Burton of Cambridge (G); dear brother-in-law of Barb and her husband Bert Van Amerongen of Kitchener, Anita Burton and the late Mike Burton. Also survived by nieces and nephews Lorrie and Russell and son Hart, Jennifer and Phil and children Logan and Jasmine, all of B.C., Mark and Heidi and children Kathryn and Benjamin of Timmins, Christine, Tony, Richard, Terry and Ellen and family and Christopher, all of the Kitchener area. Ben had a very special place in his heart for his goddaughter Jessica Cormier. To Ben, Danielle, Stacey and his sweetheart Kelly were very special. Friends will be received at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 273 Northumberland Street, Ayr today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 8th at 1: 30 p.m. Reverend G. Griggs officiating. Cremation to follow.
