      Of 839 Sherring St., Cambridge, on Friday, Aug. 17, 1984, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Ella Heggie; dear father of Donald of Cambridge, Joan (Mrs. Douglas Merkel) of St. Jacobs, Carol (Mrs. Art Helston) of Tillsonburg. Also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Kelly of Kitchener, Minnie (Mrs. Gus Pelz) and Mrs. Bertha Seal, both of Cambridge; also 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one brother and two sisters. Mr. Laurence lived all his life in Cambridge, retired from Savage Shoes, where he was employed for 53 years. He was active in minor sports in his earlier years; one of the founders of the Preston Legion Citizen Band; also played in the Galt Kiltie Band; former member of the Baracca Class. Friends will be recieved at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Friday, 7-9, Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service at the funeral home Sunday, at 4 p.m. Interment in Park Lawn cemetery.
