  Died: At Elmira, on Wednesday June 1st, Clara Vestella, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Ruppel, aged 19 years, 11 months and 24 days. The funeral will take place from the residence of Mr. John H. Ruppel, on Saturday, June 4th, at2 o'clock p.m. Elmira Signet 2 Jun 1904 p. 1, col. 5 ___________________ A gloom was cast over the village yesterday when it became known that death had visited the house of Mr. John H. Ruppel, Clerk of the Village, and had claimed his second daughter, Clara Vestella, a bright young lady whose good Christian deportment and affectionate disposition had rendered her a general favorite. Although deceased had been ailing somewhat of late, nothing serious was anticipated until several weeks ago, she became afflicted with an uncommonly severe case of Anemia, which in spite of the best of nursing and medical attendance resulted fatally. She was ending her 20th year, was socially well connected and will [be] greatly missed, not only at home but also by her companions.
