    • Cornelius Harvey

      PRESTON, Cornelius Thomas Harvey, 826 Duke St., died Friday, at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt. He was 87. Born in England, May 28, 1882, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Harvey. He came to Canada in 1911, spent nine years in Kincardine and in 1920 moved to Preston, where he lived ever since. He was a furniture finish engineer employed with Canadian Office and School Furniture Co., for 28 years before retiring in 1966. A veteran of the First World War, he was a member of the Salvation Army and an honorary member of the Preston legion branch. Surviving are his wife, the former Violet May Wurr; two sons, Thomas and Robert John, both of Preston; five daughters, Mrs. Violet May White and Mrs. Andrew (Alice) Nelson, both of Preston, Mrs. Maxwell (Mary) Strong of Cobourg, Out., Hilda of Saint John, N.B. and Mrs. Donald (Olga) Robinson of Guelph; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Aldrich of England; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body is at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, Preston, where a memorial service will be held Sunday, at 8 p.m,. under the auspices of the Preston branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. The funeral service wall be held at the funeral home Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Parklawn cemetery, Preston.
