Notes - Brousse, Emily Christine (nee Champion) 'Cora' 1922-2008 - Passed away peacefully at Lisaard House on September 30, 2008 with her family at her side. Her courageous battle with cancer for the past year has been an inspiration to all who knew her. Cora was predeceased by her husband René in 1999, two brothers Frederick Champion and William Flook, grandsons William (Billy) Bedard, Jeffery Poll and son in-law James Dutfield. Cora is survived by her five children Marylyn (Wood) Assis (Manny) of Cambridge, Diana Dutfield of Stoney Creek, Jackie Bedard (Bob) of Rockton, Paul Brousse (Kim) of Port Albert and Fred Brousse of Cambridge, as well as two sisters Glendora Spurgeon of Cambridge, Betty Clark (Ken) of Arden, Ontario, brother in-law Francis Brousse (Roni) of Mar, Ontario and sister in-law Sharon Brousse of Buffalo, NY. She will be missed by her 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and 25 nieces and nephews. Cora was a member of the Galt Legion Branch 121, a lifetime member of the C.W.L. at St. Patrick's R.C. Church, a member St. Ambrose R.C. Church and also a member of Kirkwall Presbyterian Church. She was an avid euchre player, dancer and loved the casinos. We are so grateful to her many friends and neighbours who have been very supportive throughout this difficult time. Cora touched the hearts of everyone she met. That infectious smile, quick wit and kind words is the legacy she leaves to all who had the privilege of making her acquaintance. Although she was small she was mighty. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Cora's memory to Lisaard House, by contacting Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St, Cambridge 519-740-0669. Private family interment has taken place at Kirkwall Cemetery.
