- Fleming Fraser Dies in Cincinnati
Fleming A. Fraser, of Cincinnati, Ohio, a native of New Hamburg, died suddenly last Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. The late Mr. Fraser was born in New Hamburg 69 years ago, a son of the late Alexander (Sandy) Fraser and the late Julia Ernst. Following his attendance at school here, he joined the staff of the Standard Bank where he worked until 1912 when he went to New York City and was engaged in the leather business with his father-in-law, Titus Boullee, also a native of New Hamburg. He later became interested in the industrial drycleaning field, and in 1931 moved to Cincinnati where he established the Standard Overall Service. Since that time he expanded the company to include operations in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. During recent years he had been serving as secretary-treasurer of the firm. While resident in New Hamburg, Mr. Fraser was interested in sports and served as secretary of the local hockey club for a number of years. He was a member of the Hyde Park Country Club, the Cincinnati Optimist Club, the Spring Lake, New Jersey, Bass and Tennis Club and the Spring Lake Golf Club and was Past Master of Maple Lodge 196, A.F. & A.M., Maplewood, N.J. Until his recent brief illness Mr. Fraser had been in good health and was planning to make a vacation trip to Europe at the end of this month. He is survived by his widow, the former Ethel Boullee, whom he married in New York in 1911; a son, Fleming B. (Don) Fraser; a daughter, Mrs. Martha F. Doscher; both of Cincinnati; a brother, John Fraser, Kitchener; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday with internment following at Cincinnati.
