  SHAIL, Rev. Canon Harold Manford - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener on Saturday, March 1, 2008. In his 93rd year, he was the dearly loved husband of Dorothy Lillian Barker for 65 years. Proud and loving father of Sandra Poolton and her husband Edward of Elmira, David and his wife Janet of Kapuskasing, and Mark and his wife Hélène of Timmins. Harold will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Paul Poolton (Lisa), Jeffrey Poolton (friend Julie), Melanie Earley (Carl), Jennifer Ehnes (Percy), Ryan Shail (Margarida), Melissa Pilotte (Mike), Brent Shail (Jenny) and his great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Aaron, Brooke and Nathan. Also survived by his brother, Jack and his wife Sarah of Manitoba; brother-in-law, Bob Barker and his wife Suzanne of St. Catharines; sisters-in-law, Maisie Shail of Kirkland Lake, Ila Shail of Ottawa and Georgie Barker of Kirkland Lake. Predeceased by his brothers, Douglas and Robert; sister-in-law, Jean; brothers-in-law, Gordon and Donald (Fran). For many years Canon Shail served faithfully as a member of the Anglican Church clergy in the Diocese of Moosonee. He will be fondly remembered by his parishioners in Schumacher and Kapuskasing. Prior to entering the ministry, Harold served his country during the Second World War. An active member of the Masonic Lodge, Harold was a Past Master, member of the Scottish Rite, Past T.P.G.M., member of the 33rd Degree Supreme Council, Past Patron of Fidelis Chapter, O.E.S. and a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Eastern Star and Masonic services will be held at the Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Cremation with interment to follow at a later date.
