  • Notes
    • TOUSHAN, Hazel Marguerite (nee Beggs) Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Nursing Home on November 18, 2011, in her 92nd year. Loving mother of Carol (Gary) Lauber, Garry (Marie) Toushan, Doug (Hennie) Toushan, Lynn Nickel (Bernie Ertes) and Richard Toushan. Cherished grandmother of fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Walter Toushan (1995), and her parents Wray and Earla Beggs. Hazel was a vibrant woman, whose love of family extended beyond her children to include friends and acquaintances. Her willingness to open her heart and home to others was one of her many strengths. Hazel spent most of her career in the wedding industry as a bridal consultant, and continued to do so into her 80s. Her sense of style and elegance would always shine through, in her work and in her home. Her life was a gift to many, and she will be sadly missed. A cremation was held on Monday with family in attendance. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service being held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 116 Queen St. N., Kitchener at 2: 30 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. Donations in lieu of flowers to the MS Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and/or Sunnyside Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.
