  Horace Thompson PRESTON, Feb. 25 - Suffering a heart attack at his home, 905 King St., Horace Erle Thomson, 39, died at 1 o'clock this morning before medical aid could be summoned. Apparently in good health he was engaged in his regular employment duties yesterday, and his sudden death came as a shock to his family and friends in Preston and district. Mr. Thomson was born in Meaford. He resided in Preston from 1920 to 1928, and then made his home in Waterloo where he was employed with Raitar Transport as a truck driver. Returning to Preston six years ago, he enlisted with the Scot Fusiliers in Kitchener in 1942, serving overseas with the Royal Canadian Engineers. During his service his family resided in Preston and he returned here following his discharge in February,1945. He was since employed with the Four Wheel Drive, Kitchener. A Baptist by faith, he was a member of Preston Legion branch. Surviving are his widow, Marie Selena Beattie; three daughters, Marie, Marjorie and Shirley, and one son, Robert Erle, all of Preston; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd Ertel of Kitchener; two brothers, Alvin of Manchester, England and Ray Thomson of Calgary. One sister, Mrs. Inze Allemang, predeceased him in 1925. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home where the funeral will be held Friday at 2.30 p.m. Interment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Preston.
