    • Capt. James L. Detweiler was a marine engineer working to establish the Powell River Paper Company in 1910. He worked as an engineer in the Royal Navy in WW1 and with the Fishermans Reserve on the West Coast of Canada during WW2. His was awarded a medal for his service. He later was captain of the MV Norcrest. He and his wife Hannah had once had there homes in San Francisco and Savary Island
