  Mrs. James Welsh Passes - A well-known former resident of this community, Mrs. James Welsh of Brantford passed away on Saturday at Brantford General Hospital, aged 85 years. The former Rose Gemmell, she was born here, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gemmell. She resided for many years on the Welsh farm, just west of the village, until moving to Brantford 10 years ago. Mrs. Welsh was a valued member of Knox United Church during her residence here, and also of several of its women's organizations. She subsequently was affiliated with Zion United Church in Brantford. Surviving are two sons, John G., RR 3, Ayr, and James Robert, Brantford; two daughters, Mrs. C. H. (Betty) Jackson, Kitchener, and Mrs. C. S. (Mary) Fissette, Brantford; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband in 1952. - The Funeral - Funeral service was held on Tuesday from McCleister Funeral Home, Brantford, with interment in Ayr Cemetery. Rev. G. Victor.
