    • Mrs. Henry Knechtel, 86, of the A. R. Goudie Eventide Home died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. The former Justina Katherine Hammer, she was born September 26, 1879, in Wilmot Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Hammer. She moved to the Twin Cities 43 years ago and lived on Park Street before moving to the Eventide Home two years ago. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo, and of the church's senior fellowship. She was predeceased by her husband in July, 1959. Surviving are one son, Arthur, Waterloo; one daughter, Mrs. Willard (Alma) Miller, Kitchener; one brother, Albert, Wellesley; one sister, Mrs. Annie Wegfahrt (Wegford), Kitchener, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Mrs. Lydia Newmaster, in 1953 and by two brothers. The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until noon Thursday when removal will be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo, for the funeral at 2: 30 p.m. Rev. A.L. Conrad will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Donations to the church building fund will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.
