  Miss Laurie Mitchell Passes One of Ayr's senior and most respected residents, Miss Laurie Deans Mitchell passed away at the Freeport Nursing Home on Tuesday She had been in ailing health for more than a year. Born in Ayr, she was a daughter of the late John Wallace Mitchell and Catherine Robson. For some years the family resided on a farm in South Dumfries. Miss Mitchell later returned to this village, where she spent her lifetime. She was a valued member of Knox United Church and a life member of the Woman's Missionary Society. Miss Mitchell took a keen interest in community social life and was a member of Ayr Women's Institute and the bowling club. She is survived by a sister, Miss Jean Mitchell, Ayr, and several nephews and nieces. The funeral will be held from the W. O. Ball Funeral Parlor on Friday at 2.30 p.m. to the Ayr Cemetery.
